Whats the difference between a Basic Website Design Package & A Custom Website Design Package? A basic website design is a very simple, no-frills site that doesnt genereally need a lot of regular updates, and can stand on its own for an extended period of time before it needs to be updated. There is generally no embedded media or dynamic content. The custom website design package allows more dynamically flexible content to be added and updated regularly. Embedded audio and/or video, updated content, the addition of extra pages as needed. This type of site takes a lot more work to build and takes ongoing webmastering for changes/updates. What type of package would suit me best? This fully depends on the type of site you need. If you want to sell things online with a virtual store, you need an e-commerce softare installation with instructions on how to add your products. Maybe you want to promote your band's music and have mp3's of your music available for your listeners to listen to. Perhaps you want a personal site for family and friends to share your vacation photos or pictures of the newborn. How long does it normally take to build and host a web site? Depending on what is needed on your site, what you want the site to do, and how many graphics and coding is needed, your site can generally be "live" on the interent from anywhere from 36 hours to upwards of a month. This is my first website, do you provide any services to help a person running their own website for the first time? Yes we do! We offer webmastering services to keep your site updated, along with tutorials on how you can update content yourself! If I already have a site can you help me improve it? Absolutely! There are a TON of "professionally" designed websites out there that are absolutely terrible! We will happily redesign your site with your input, from tweaking things all the way up to literally rebuilding your site from scratch! I do not have any images for my website but want some for it. Can WTR Productions help me? We can, depending on the images you want. Naturally there are images on the net that are copyright-protected and cannot be used. However, there are also a ton of images that are free to use. In addition, we can make use of any pictures, photos, and/or images you have in your personal possession. What are the things that you need from me to complete the web site design? First and foremost, we need your concept idea of what your website should look like. We understand that you may not initially have a clue how you want the site to appear, however as it is built, your ideas will likely gel. We will show you the pages as we build them which allows you maximum input to your site design. In addition, if you have any graphics or logos, we'll need those, plus any and all initial content. Of course, the first two things you will need are a registered domain name and webspace from a webserver host. To access the server, we do need to have your login and password info. Why should I hire a professional to design my website? You should always use "the right tool for the right job"! You want your site to look sleek and attractive to your visitors, and you want them to keep coming back to your site. For this reason, a professional web designer should be hired. The pro's know how to integrate things seamlessly and smoothly with good looks and clean styles without making it look cluttered and hard-to-navigate. Once my site is live, can I make any changes or updates myself? You can, provided you know how to code. It isn't as easy as one might seem, depending on the updating. If you are talking about posting news, blogs, etc., then we can install a content management system for you that lets you log into an administration area and post updates on your own. What kind of Technical Support does WTR Productions provide? We will troubleshoot any problems you are experiencing with your site, help you to update your site's looks and content, and pretty much take care of it FOR you if you wish. We offer webmastering services both as a flat fee, and an hourly rate, so you can choose which one works best for you! If you only need a few things taken care of or fixed, you will naturally benefit from our hourly rate, as opposed to hiring us to update your site weekly every month. Is there a Deposit Amount Required? A Standard Minimum of 50% deposit is required prior to work commencing. Refunds of your deposit may be considered, depending on the circumstances of cancellation. |
